El Paso Texas and Vicinity Annotated Promotional Map of Loma Vista

DESCRIPTION: Real estate promotional map ca. 1925 of El Paso highlighting Howard E. Cantrell's Loma Vista property, a tract advertised as comprising 6,200 acres. Red shading and a heavy boundary distinguish the holding northwest of the city's business center, extending across the foothills and canyons of Mount Franklin. Detailed contours contrast the rugged terrain with the street grids of existing and proposed residential districts.

The map presents a geographical argument for investment: accompanying text claims that El Paso's future residential expansion must follow Country Club or Mesa Road west of Mount Franklin and pass through Loma Vista. The promotional language emphasizes limited building land and the tract's anticipated profit potential, offering a direct record of the sales methods used to market the city's outward growth.

Coverage includes the Rio Grande, Juarez, the international boundary, railroads, the military reservation and hospital, municipal golf course, city waterworks, and numerous named subdivisions. The downtown business center is circled in red. Manuscript notes, lines, and arrows supplement the printed information, suggesting use in evaluating property or development prospects.

Titled "Map of El Paso, Texas and Vicinity Showing the Property of H. E. Cantrell." Prepared by Emory Cobb, Eng'r Dr'ft'n, from City Plan Commission maps and other official data. Cantrell's address is given as the First National Building, El Paso. No publication date is visible in the photograph.
