DESCRIPTION: Detailed engraved plate illustrating the construction and internal arrangement of a large wooden sailing warship. A central longitudinal cutaway reveals the vessel's multiple decks, gun positions, mast supports, storage compartments, and carefully distributed supplies. Casks, coiled rope, and other stores fill the hold, showing how the ship's interior accommodated the equipment and provisions required for extended service.
Additional elevations and sections illustrate the hull's timber framework, diagonal bracing, exterior planking, and underwater form. Smaller numbered figures examine structural joints, fastenings, curved timbers, and transverse hull sections, while geometric drawings record the curves used to define the vessel's shape. The plate combines practical construction details with an unusually informative view of a warship's working interior.
Engraved by Henry Winkles, whose imprint appears at the lower right. Marked "Taf. 9" in the upper margin.
