Lake Knowles Terrace was established during Florida’s 1920s real-estate boom. When its second phase opened in 1925, the demand was intense—65 lots sold in a single day, reflecting the speculative enthusiasm of the period. The neighborhood developed with the architectural fashions of the time, featuring Bungalow/Craftsman, Colonial Revival, and Mediterranean-inspired homes that continue to shape its character today. Jack Taylor and Joe King were local realtors operating from the Hamilton Hotel Building in Winter Park.
