Small copperplate engraving by Pluche showing a galley (Galère, Fr.) with 27 oars per side under sails with the oars stowed. The ships boat is clearly visible as is a cloud of smoke which may originate from the cooking 'galley'. Plate 14. Vol 3. Page 132.
